It’s been an incredible day of live music at Discovery Academy as lots of children have taken part in a sponsored play a thon. They have been raising money today for The Sylvia Swiffin Trust, who work to provide musical opportunities for young people across Tameside. They support us in many of our projects and particular the Music Service's first European tour, which is taking place in July. A tour is a fantastic experience for any musician - a chance to build friendships, develop skills, gain confidence, and experience other cultures. However, the costs of tours mean that some families are no longer able to afford these opportunities for their children. Therefore, supported by The Sylvia Swiffin Trust, they are raising funds to subsidise the cost and ensure that the tour is accessible to any of the young musicians who want to take part.
